Check Tampering!

A sleazy salesperson came to my apartment and I was the only one home. He was very abrasive and pushy and rambled on about magazines and points. I didn't trust him or his cause and finally decided to give him a small donation so he would go away, without being obligated to any magazine orders or larger amounts of money. I did not have any cash and tried to use this as an excuse but he pushed even more so I wrote him a 5 dollar check. When reviewing my bank statement it showed that he had changed the amount on my check to 85 dollars instead.
