Why do they constant want to rip people off?

Why do they constant rip off people? They send letters and make telephone calls.
When you submitted the payments, they are sending or calling saying you owe more money.
They are my worst nightmare and I'm trying to resolved it and can barely understand what is coming out of their mouth, and have of them don't know nothing.
It's bad enough your on hold for ever and then they put you back on hold or disconnect you from the line.
Is, anybody else going through this in Texas? I readed on other states.
