Oh Where Do I start?

Started off looking around for a new car, choose the Prius, great car... Then We got the sales man, and really there was nothing wrong with how we were treated by the sales department.

We picked out... Well rather compromised on a car that they had on the lot, not the color or packages that we wanted but would do, got down to a price of 22,000. Told them about the trade in that should come in at about 3,500. Blue Booked resale for 6,000.

Put the deposit down and went on our merry way to get financing. The following day bring the trade in over to be appraised. That's when things went from ok to worse. The manager of the place comes up and looks at the car...

"there's scrach on paint"
"there's wear on tires"
"I can't figure out Air Conditioning"
"it's only a V6, no V8"
"We don't want color"
On and ON about a car that is given 6 years old, but in really good condition for it's age.

Offered $200 for the car.

No that is not a typo, and he was dead serious 200.

"unless there is a 3 in front of that 2, the deal is off"

With no budging, we left, explaining to the sales man that the deal is off, forget it, and we'll be back in the morning for the deposit (cashier was closed on the weekend).

Sunday Night, with out a second thought the sales man calls us at 730pm asking if we still wanted the car, a conversation that ultimatly ended up in, We are in the middle of dinner, we'll have to let you know. (Personally I didn't want to have to explain to the guy again that the deal was off)

Monday, Go back to the Dealership to get the deposit back.

After having to get a form filled out with the sales man and him having to approve it over the manager, we are called in to the managers office.

"Could have sold that car 5 times in the last 5 days but we are holding it for you, no money back"

Not even half the deposit back in good gesture, nothing.

Lesson learned not to sign anything, ect.

Hour Later get a phone call from the Sales man who is watching this sale slip through his fingers, "the owner of the dealership got wind of what happend and wants to make you an offer on the car that we have held here for you, If it's a good deal, you can drive off that night.

The offer was the same, 22,000 and 200 for the trade in.

Needless to say, we are disputing the charge with Visa, and never going back.

I'm currently waiting for the car that I wanted in the color I wanted, from a dealership a little further away but better in service.

As well as 4000 for my trade in, and 18,750 selling price for a package 2 Prius.

Happy with the other dealership, sad that others may have the same thing happen with them.
