Unexplained rate increase Salt Lake

I received my most recent statement for my corporate CC and now have a 21.99 int. Rate, up from 7.99. I have had the card for 14 months with no late payments, etc... I called them and they said they cannot share with me why it went up. Their automated system is prorietary so there is not info to share. It happens automatically! They said I could opt out which would close my acct and lower it to 7.99%. Or I could choose to lower it to 10.99. Since I have a number of automated corp expenses that are on the card I could not opt out immediately. Will do soon, after I change the auto payments. Hard to believe a company is willing to lose me as a customer but I guess that is why CC companies are in such dire straits these days.
