3 day, two night stay, 1 million dollar sweepstakes, magazines?

I was called by a company that was in Rome Georgia on March 30. They greeted me and said that they would like to inform me that I am a final contestant for a million dollar sweepstakes. The man I first talked to was named barry.

He was talking really fast but said because I have a visa logo on my credit card (it was actually a debit card) they had drawn my name from a phone book? It did kind of sound fishy.

He explained since I was a finalist I would be recieving in the mail a 3 day 2 night stay at many luxurious hotel that I had my pick of in many cities across the world. I was kind of skeptical but then he said he has done his part and he is quite new here and his supervisor will be calling me to make sure he did a good job. I said ok and he hung up.

About 5 mins later I got another phone call but this was a woman that was talking to me. She said she was Barry's supervisor and just wanted to make sure he explained everything correctly. She said as you know you are a finalist for the 1 million dollar sweepstakes, and you will know if you are the winner by feb. 15. (yes that is a long time) She also said she will bwe sending me 3 magazines, like Redbook, Marie Claire, etc. That they will pay for one year. They said all i had to do was pay a 3.45 a week for a weekly magazine for one year. They told me that the total would be 897 dollars. They also said that they will directly take 74.80 out of my account every month instead of billing me weekly. I being nieve said ok. She then asked me to verify my debit card number and the code on the back. And yes i did it. She then asked me that she needed some demographic info, like where I worked, monthly income, etc. She then said that a lady would be calling me to verify my address and I said ok and hung up. A
About 5 mins later a lady named Tina called and said she needed to verify my address. I gave her it and also they needed the name of my husband and his phone number just in case I do not answer their calls.

I gave it to them and she then said she was recording me for better customer service. She then said I would be getting no more calls from them and if I have any questions she gave me a toll free number (Which does not work i tried it) Also the number these people called from had supposedly been temporarily disconnected.
I am pretty mad at myself for falling for this. Please do not be the next victim and NEVER give your cc number out over the phone. I sure learned my lesson.
I am calling my bank tomorrow to get this straigtened out!!
