The biggest pain about moving to

Miscellaneous

The biggest pain about moving to a new city is finding new services. I hate the lost time and money, not to mention the ruined clothing and bad hair color jobs one must endure during the year of trial and error searching for everything from dry cleaners to hairdressers. Such was my state of mind when I called To Keep It Clean. I had put off finding a housekeeping service for three months after my move here, but the Cocker Spaniel-sized germs in the bathrooms indicated I could ignore the situation longer at my peril.

I’m ever so pleased to say, To Keep It Clean is now my housekeeping service. Here’s why:

1. They put stuff back where they found it. I know this seems like a no-brainer, but if you’ve ever found your Chanel perfume in, say, the pantry, you’ll appreciate this one.

2. They do what they say they’re going to do. The price and level of service they described was exactly what I paid and what I got. Whoa, what a concept!
3. They are pet-friendly. I trust them around my fur-family, including trusting them to lock the gate behind them, and remember who gets to be in and who must be out.

4. They constantly ask for feedback.

5. They clean the things I notice (why is this one so hard for most housekeepers to get?) I rarely look at the top of the kitchen cabinets, but since I live in the house, and brush my teeth there, I see, up close, every single day, my toothbrush stand.

They don’t water my plants (a touchy point with me).

6. They show up right on time. They get right to work and they are done on time.

7. When they do a lighter clean, they spend their efforts on the obvious stuff (translation, stuff you’d notice if you came to visit me)

8. They put stuff back where they found it. I know I said this before, but it tickles me so. There’s no need for me to spend a half an hour rearranging the house when I get home. The bedroom pillows aren’t switched with the living room pillows, my cast iron skillet isn’t in the dishwasher, and the cat isn’t locked in a closet. Wow. Big stuff in my world!

9. The two who do my house are guys. There is something really gratifying about leaving two men cleaning your house while you leave for the office. Okay, this one is probably just me.
