I ordered a "Buxton Organizer" bag and recieved it about three weeks from when I ordered it. The packaging consisted of a clear plastic bag inside of a torn black plastic bag. It had no invoice or packing list and it was shipped "prsrt std" which is what used to be called "bulk rate", literally the rate for junk mail. Neither of the plastic bags were any thicker than an off brand trash bag.

The construction of the purse was OK but it was made of fair to poor mateirials and the leather was extremely poor quality. The purse came in a choice of three colors (red, black, tan) and I ordered "tan". Tan is a specific color not a generic term for light brown, but the bag they sent me was a color that can be described as taupe or putty brown, but not as tan. The purse had some scratches because of of the damaged packaging but would not have been damaged if it was made of even slightly better quality materials. The order was made on an 800 number with an automated system which tried to hard sell me on a higher price, muliple items a purchasing club and a travel club etc, not to mention the "free" extra whose shipping and handling fee exceeded its value.

I want to return the purse but 1/3 of the price is a nonrefundable shipping and handling fee and (because of other reports I have read about the company) I cannot trust the item will be acknowledged unless I send it first class and request a return receipt. The net of half what I payed is not worth my time. The purse is made in China and the $8.99 shipping and handling fee likely covers both what this company paid for the item and the cost of bulk shipping it to me. This is not an ethical way to conduct business. Buxton should pay closer attention to whom it sells the rights to use its brand name.

In contrast, I recently ordered a name brand scanner from an online compay located in California. The price they charged me was significantly less than retail plus a shipping charge of exactly what they paid FedEx. The scanner was shipped Fed Ex Ground the same day they recieved my order. I recieved the scanner in its original well packed box in perfect condition along with an invoice.
