Strategic Marketing and Darren Paulson scammed my software company out of $900

Darren Paulson with Strategic Marketing contacted us after we made and inquiry for telemarketing sevices through a third party referral service. We had spoken to several other telemarketing firms, but Mr. Paulson was very convincing and assurred us that his company could achieve better results by using "better lists, " and "more experienced callers." He even went so far as to tell us that he would have "no problem" setting 15 or 16 appointments for us from the initial call campaign. Since he was referred to us, we had little reason to believe he was lying, so we sent him $900 for a 30 hour telemarketing campaign. Big mistake.

Like others who have been scammed by him, we become a little leary when the "script" that was supposed to customized for us was little more than a cursory re-write of the infomation we supplied him on our company. Moreover, we could never get ahold of Mr. Paulson to find out when the calls were going to be made or when the campaign was going to start. He finally did return an email and stated we were going to start at the beginning of March.

I received no updates from Strategic Marketing like they promise on their website. Finally after pushing Mr. Paulson for an update, on March 19th I received an email from a Meredith Ball (who claims to be a Campaing Development Director) stating that the calls were competed, the hours were exhausted and they did not receive ANY positive results.

After becomming suspicous, we did more digging on Mr. Paulson and have found numerous other complaints about him and his company. We have also found a BBB report on his other company, Qualified Leads.com, where 52 complaints have been issued. All complaints are similar in nature and center aournd Stratgic Marketing's non-performance and false advertising.

Stay away from this company - it's clearly a scam.
