Don't be fooled by their ads on Craigslist!

Miscellaneous

I am desperate for a job, and so I fell for their ad on Craigslist: http://denver. Craigslist.org/csr/531311657.html

I went in for the initial interview and they said they would be considering me for management. The office was very scarce and mostly just had desks and chairs, but no pictures on the walls. They said it was "new", so I just accepted it without questioning.

The girl that interviewed me was VERY unprofessional and that was when I got my first weird vibes. They didn't even ask for my resume! They just had me fill out a form with all my personal information on it. She then told me to call back at a certain time, so I did, and she excitedly told me that I had passed the first interview. She scheduled me to come in on Thursday 1/10/08 at 2pm, saying that I needed to "dress sharp", bring a pencil and paper, and be prepared to spend about 3 hours there.

So on Thursday I give them a call in the morning to just confirm that I had written down the right time. Lo and behold, their phone number was disconnected! They had the phone number of their other branch in their ad so I called them, asking what was going on. The girl told me that I should have gotten a phone call saying that the interview would be rescheduled for next week at a different location. She then told me to call back on Monday.

I was still getting bad vibes so I tried their number again today, 1/11/08, and it was still disconnected. I called the other branch again and voiced my concerns about not being able to contact the other office, and she put me on hold. A man got on, Jamal, who was working the front desk when I came in for my initial interview. He told me that the office was closed temporarily for "remodeling" and was surprised that I didn't get a phone call. He then scheduled me to have the 2nd interview next Thursday.

Still doubtful, I had my boyfriend call them to find out their company name (they didn't put it in the ad, and didn't really have it advertised in their office anywhere. The interviewer said it once very briefly and quite rushed, along with a simple explanation that they sell "fragrances"). They were hesitant to tell him, and when he asked what their business did they told him that he would have to talk to the manager, Chris Westphal, on Monday.

My number one concern is should i be worried that they have my social security number and personal information?
