Ripoff - Unscrupulous Advertising - Substandard Customer Service, Internet

This link came up in a Publishers Clearinghouse sign up. It advised "Open a Free Online Business". By clicking the link, there is another window advising to recieve thier information, you must present a credit card for $1.97 to recieve by mail. After entering your information, you are provided a reciept and a link to the new store. There is about 2 pages of information, but nothing describing there is a 14 day trial, that you will be charged $39.95 mothly, that you must make $100 in commissions before being paid or that you HAVE to agree to thier terms and conditions to view this information.

The link takes you to your new site, but you are not provided any information until you click the only button available "Yes, I Agree". I had to search the internet for an 800 number to call customer service.

The customer service rep said her name was Phoebe, and she wanted to sell me more first. When I refused and repeatdly asked for a cancellation, and a confirmation it was cancelled, she promptly advised " we cannot do that". After 15 minutes of further arguments, I ask for a supervisor, and again. "We cannot do that". I can't give you my last name, I can't give you my supervisor's name, I can't provide you any information about the company.

I finally got a "supervisor" named Louie, again no information can be provided. He also had the gall to chastise me and advise that before i order anything to read everything. UGH! I would never have ordered anything that charges me to make a commission of which i cannot recieve unless it is a specific amount over an unknown period of time!!!

They advised it was cancelled and to wait until Jan 14 for verification. I see my credit card is already charged. I reported it to the BBB and will followup with my attorney.
