Credit Card Scam

If you have poor credit, and sign up online for applications, this company will call you. They have operators who speak so fast in an effort to try to tempt you with a credit card, it makes it sound like a great offer.

I received a call while at work on my cell phone. The operator went over everything with me, telling me they were giving me a Mastercard, with zero percent interest (I did not understand her she was speaking so fast, when she said it was a prepaid card). She told me that I would be billed 129.95, and when it would be due. I informed her that I would not have the money this month, and that I would use an advance to pay for that amount. I also told her that I did not want anything to be pulled from my account. The operator informed me that I was not giving her authorization to pull funds from my account. Red flags should have gone up in my head; however, I was trying to get credit for just the holidays and my family.

When the recording question and answer time came, she verified my account information, and said everything so fast, I did not catch her saying I gave them authorization to pull from my account.

So, when the funds come out and my account is overdrawn, I contact Platinum Group, and their customer service company could have cared less. From the attitude I received from the customer service representative, as well as from the manager, they receive calls like this often. I had to listen to the entire recording again, with care, to barely understand what was said to know I had been duped into allowing them to authorize money to be taken from my account. This is of course, after I specifically said I did not want this to happen. My only option was to cancel this, so nothing else would be taken from my account.

If you receive an e-mail from this company, or a phone call. Tell them to leave you alone.
