Tricky, Misleading, and Phony

I was hired through Qualstaff for a Temp-to-hire position. When I went in for a interview Becky told me i would be put in a position for a 3 month trial period. After the three months i was told I would have the opportunity to advance as well as take a pay raise if I was offered the position. I was also told that I could potentially be put in a higher position within 3 to 6 months.

Three months passed and their were no complaints about my work and I was under the impression that I was doing a really great job. I was doing all that they asked of me and more. There was no word on a decision about keeping me or letting me go, so I assumed that no news was good news.

I continued working there for 2 more months with no word on my status, but all the signs that my employers were happy with my performance. Just before hitting my sixth month there I received a CALL from the boss telling me that they found someone more qualified for the position. And they were not talking about the job i was doing either. They were talking about the position that i could have potentially advanced into. They told me the job i was doing was never going to be a permanent position because they did not want to pay this person benefits.

So basically they tricked me into taking a job that was never going to be a permanent one. They cut me off before i could collect unemployment or receive any type of benefits and the mislead me the entire time. They were taking me for a ride and left me high and dry. I think that they are conducting bussiness in an extremely unprofessional manner and people should be aware of this. I am aware that I am not the first person they have finagled into this uncomfortable position and I am sure I will not be the last.
