Unauthorized payment by credit card Austin, Texas

I purchased car insurance for my son by using my credit card which I understood was a one-time instance. Six months later Esurance took another payment from my credit card without my permission and they tell me they will not remove my credit card number until my son calls them and gives them another credit card number. WHAT KIND OF ILLEGAL SITUATION IS THIS??? Now I have to cancel my credit card to avoid being charged over and over again.
