Fraudulent Business Practices Ripoff

About a week ago my husband received a call on our home phone from someone claiming to be from the IRS to speak about a refund. He was given information on this refund and the person requested account information for a direct deposit into our account supposedly to happen in 2-3 business days.

To give you an idea as to why my husband wasnt suspicious of this call, let me explain that for two years in a row we have, right before time for school to start back for the year, a check for the exact same thing. An extra tax credit that was government approved.
He gave our account information to the individual and was given a phone number and a comfirmation number to call if the money was not received in 3-5 days. We checked our account after 3 days and there was no deposit for the claimed amount. We waited 3 more days and still no money. My husband lost the number to call so he called the IRS. Apparently this is not a legit claim. We immediatly called our bank and put a freeze on our account. I advise anyone who gets this call to check it out before giving any information.

We have discovered that only $30.00 was taken by this company from our account, supposedly as a health care insurance premium. There was a phone number attached to the draft... It is 1-866-407-1029.

We talked with a "representative" from this number and were told that they were sorry that one of their operators misrepresented them and the matter would be handled internally. She refused to give us any information on the person who contacted us, and told us that they were perfectly legal in drafting our account since my husband gave them permission over the phone.
