I paid for a magazine subscription to Gulfscapes Magazine for my mom through the website gulfscapes.com over 8 months ago. I thought it was a little fishy because you had to pay for it by PayPal but my mom really wanted the magazine and credit cards were not accepted and my mom does not have a Paypal account so I went ahead and paid for her.

Three months later my mom still hadn't got a magazine. So she calls long-distance (actually, she had to call about 10 times before someone answered the phone and never responded to any emails or phone messages she left) and Victoria says she will send it right out. Over a month laters my mom still doesn't have her magazine. After numerous emails Victoria accuses my mom of lying about both paying for the magazine and getting the magazine in the mail but finally says she will refund the money but then she never refunds the money and gives my mom a stream of excuses. So then I tried to file a claim with Paypal but Victoria just ignored it and Paypal wouldn't do anything either because too much time had passed.

My mom only lost $18 (she paid me cash when I paid for her through Paypal) and was willing to just forget about it because it crossed being a bigger hassle than it was worth about 3 months ago but today I checked out her Better Business Bureau profile:

She seems to make a habit of this type of thing which makes me very angry. And since BBB reports don't show up in internet searches, I thought I should put it here to warn others. Do NOT give Gulfscapes Magazine, gulfscapes.com or Victoria Munt Rogers Starrett (or whatever she's calling herself today) anything and expect something in return because it isn't going to happen.
