Ripoff using con-artist teenagers for fake childrens book sales

Two polite teenage girls came to the house with a story about selling childrens books on behalf of their volley ball team, and needing to raise money for some of the less fortunate girls on the team for traveling games. They offered to come back and do yard chores or wash cars to repay the kindness. They also were practiced enough con artists to persoanlize their ptich by seeing my dog and saying their mom walked her black dog in the neighborhood too, and I probably see her all the time.

They swore it was for a charitable cause that I could write off at the end of the year, yet they never showed me any paperwork until after I wrote a check. I was foolish enought to believe them and not question anything they said. What a mistake! Once I read the "receipt" I realized I was scammed and immediately cancelled the check.

Do not fall for this! It is shameful that they use kids to pitch to our charitable sides, and then pocket the money!
