Workmans comp fraud to state and employee

I got hurt on the job when freight fell on me in trailer and ruptured a disc in my neck. I had to have surgery, while out recovering I was informed Werner was not going to pay Workmans comp; so I went to draw unemployment and the state of Georgia informed me Werner had not paid unemployment taxes to the state of Ga. For the five years, so there ws nothing for me to draw.

Then I recieved a letter informing me I was denied medical leave; when I called to ask why they said I nolonger worked for them because I had quit. They said I did not come back to work after 30 days so I had quit; when I was out per doctors recovering from an Anterior Disc fusion with plate and screws in my neck. Werner kept loosing all the paperwork I would send them.

I got a Lawyer, after we got to court then Werner wanted to settle; they were to pay back workers comp, all medical bills, give me my job back just as if accident had never happened. I was a Road team Capt. They gave me $8,000 for the Workers comp, but left me with all medical, nothing for lost wages or wrongful termination, they didn't even want to give me my old job back.

I was on dedicated Dollar General, Rd. Team Capt. And I had brand new truck before accident, they kept trying to treat me as a new employee; I was out of work for six months I almost lost everything, had to cash in my retirement just to survive.

I feel I should have gotten more for my pain and suffering and lost wages. I was not trying to get rich I just wanted to be treated fairly. I just hope this will help someone else not get burned like I did. Up til then I was very happy being employed by Werner.
