Mechanic broke key in my sons ignition, refused to fix it, told my son to follow him down the street to fix it, so they could work on more cars, when my son moved his car, mechanic said it wasn't his problem Doug Ripoff lasville

My 17 yr old son took his car to Walmart for an oil change. The mechanic changed the oil, called my son to come get the car. When my son got out there, the car was running. The mechanic told my son that the key broke in the ignition, and he couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it. He told my son to get the car out of the way, so he could work on the next car. My son called me and I told him, "Do NOT move that car", so he didn't. I spoke with the mechanic and he said it wasn't his fault, it was the car, it had that type of problem all the time. I told him he would have to pay for it and I was on my way there. After I left to go up there, the mechanic called his boss. His boss told the mechanic to tell my son to pull the car out of the drive and he would follow him down the road a little bit and he would take care of it and fix it. My son believed him and drove the car. The mechanic did follow him, then waved him to pull over. My son pulled over and the mechanic came to the car and told him that his boss told him just to do that to get him off the property, and he was no longer liable for the car, even though he broke the key in it. I got up there and raised hell with both the mechanic and the boss, and they threated to call the police on me. So they did, and I told him what happened. I also let others waiting to get work done on their car, they should think twice! The police said he really couldn't do anything now because the vechicle was taken off the property! He suggested a small claims court, but now had no proof. I'll never go back. I hope they all read these type of things, they have gotten so tacky, not the old Walmart I remember, who actually cared about their customers.
