Distinct Advantage also got a hold of me, and like many others, I fell for their promises. Surprisingly, although I was rather inhebriated when I made my agreements over the phone, I was aware enough to write down the phone number, name of caller and personal extension.

Through a series of 12 phone calls though, I finally got the numbers of each of the three companies I was enrolled in: Agents Travel Network - Freedom Gold - Teleflex.

I'll include the numbers for each in case it might help anyone else that might be in the same situation.

When calling, make sure each time you speak with a representative. There will be an option on the automated system that will say it will cancel your account. Don't use that, speak with the representative and they will give you a cancelation code. Be sure to write it down.

They will quickly try to hang up, but make sure to ask to be removed from any calling list and mailing lists.

After each phone call, they will offer to send you a $100 gas purchase refund in the mail. When/If you get it, throw it away, if you use it, all you will do is reactivate your account and be back where you started.

Now, I can't guarantee it will always work, of course. Anyone in our situation knows they do what they can to scam us. Though I'm 17 days past the day I was getting billed, and haven't received any deductions. Nor have I received any phone calls or junk mail from any of the four 'companies'.

For anyone who doesn't know, this series of companies will try and charge a combined monthly charge of over $150 on the lowest end. Don't fall for it.
