Miscellaneous

I want to thank you for having this website.

I was contacted today by a guy who said I had won a sweepstake that included a gold watch, trip to Venice etc etc. And the list went on. He said that all I need to do is pay $3.99 a week for a bunch of magazines. And that he wouldn't take my credit card #

Happy, yet skeptical, I kept asking questions, Where are you calling from? How did you get my #? How do I know that this is not a scam, and he kept answering the questions VERY WELL. Great salesman. Finally, he tranferred me to his supervisor, Josh Lindal, who asked me if I wanted to commit to the $3.99 a week. I asked him if he has a phone # I could call him back at.

He told me that he understands all my concerns, but I was protected by the "United States Fraud Act" — and he went on to telling me how they wouldn't put themselves in risk of getting a bad reputation.

As I made my way to my computer, I asked him if he had a website, and he said, "No", it's too expensive to have one and they put all their marketing into phone sales. Being in the website industry, this made me more skeptical - i mean come on, it's less than $20 a month to host a website. Why would they give out hundreds of thousands of dollars when they couldn't afford their own website.

Finally, I went on Google, and typed in "United Marketing Association", and found the SAME EXACT STORY with the same exact sales guy, "Josh Lindal", listed online — ON THIS WEBSITE.

I told him to F* off, and what I found about them online - The guy immediately hung up.

The phone # they called me from was 1-800-780-2107 — if someone needs me to testfy against them, call me. My # is 646.707.2001.

Also, I think these people got my phone # from a similar sweepstakes that I entered via www.myspace.com - which I didn't end up following through with because I realized it was a scam.in this sweepstake I got a "personal email" through myspace from one of my good friends. It said that he had just won a $500 gift card in Macys by filling out a survey. 5 pages into filling out the survey, I got a call from this friend (to my luck), who knew nothing about this email that he supposedly sent out.

These people are scammmin people left and right. They are hacking into people's accounts, and are doing some crazy stuff ripping people off. Please take them down. I hate to see criminals get away this easy.
