I had one outstanding check for $700 which was to have been held as the funds were not available yet. It was deposited unexpectedly. Wachovia chose to pay that one check and NSF 20 other transactions that were done as early as 6 days prior. I got charged $700 in NSF charges, as opposed to $35.00 for one for the $700. Though they said, they were sorry and understood my problem, they told me I should be happy that they paid everything. I told the rep "why should I be happy to have been charged $700 in fees as opposed to $35". He said unfortunately First Union rules apply now since they merged, so regardless of what the rules were at the time I opened my account, those rules were now irrelevant.
