Deception, Ripoff, Scamming, Fraud, I need help, tricked into committing

I was called, at work of course, about the survey. And of course before I knew it I was sucked into believing that this would be a good deal.

I think I made two fatal mistakes, which I think no one else has, at least from the posts that I have read. First I paid them $20 for the initial payment.

I then did not pay for a few months and received the letter saying that I owed a total of $480, which almost made me pass out. I called them and asked if I could cancel, they said that it was possible. They said that one option was to settle for around 300 dollars, which at the time seemed like a good idea, so I could save some money.

I ended up paying them another 75 dollars with my credit card. Again I asked them, thinking that I could then cancel since I paid of my delinquent payments. Again they said no.

Yesterday I found this site which showed all these other people in the same boat as I, however they all got out of it, and also never payed anything to them.

Today I cancelled my bank card that I used to pay. I was told that this would not be sufficient. Now they have some of my money and they have authorization to use my credit card. So am I totally screwed now, or is there some way that I can get out of paying the rest.

I would rather not receive these magazines in exchange for not paying for them.

Someone please help me.
