Tourists ripped off in Bnagkok ASIA

Tourists visiting thailand may think that it is a beautiful country However they are ripped off at every opportunity. One examle is that the government national parks charge a Thai person 20 baht to get in mut charge a foreign tourist 400 baht to enter the same park. Taxi drivers often charge 200 baht for a journey that is in fact only 40 baht if they put on the meter.

Sellers in small shops will also in crease the prices dramatically as an example a silk purse that a Thai will pay less than 100 baht for a British or American may be charged 300 to 400 baht whilst if they think that you are Japanese they will try and charge 1500 baht for it. AND then when they complain they say ah but this is Thailand like this gives them some god given right to steal lie and cheat. Also beware of the police and if you are ever in a taxi and it has an accident pay whatever is on the meter and leave the scene immediately otherwise you will spend at least six hours down the police station and you will be expected to pay for all damage all hospital bills etc. Their thinking is ah but if you hadnt been in the car as a passenger it would not have been travelling along there and so the accident wouldnt have happened. Never mind that the taxi driver doesnt have a licence and that the other car involved had a driver who was drunk!!! Also if you rent a moped here and have an accident expect the car driver to reverse over you several times to male certain that you are dead. There will be no police investigation and all that your embassy will do is notify your next of kin and then charge you for the funeral etc.

So watch out and hav fun on holiday in Thailand because these rip offs your friendly travel agent wont tell you about!!!
