Child Support ripoff

In 1996 Jamie Dahlberg filed a support order against my wife for their 2 children. She picked them up in April 1996 and brought them to live with her in Idaho. She had some legal issues in 2001 and spent a tear in prison in Idaho were Mr Jamie Dahlberg gained costody of the children.

In 2005 he went for a support review and decided to persue it legally were as on paper with the support agency it shows she owed from 1996 to present. The support order is for $258.00 per month. 1996-06/30/06 support is 27,855.64 interest is 16,513.18 other fees is 325.00. My figuring is that of $27855.64, $14,964.00 is my wife's, and $12,891.64 is Jamie Dahlberg's amount of non-payment. This doesn't take into account he got our state tax refund this year.

I feel he/state of wisconsin should counterset as to the time she had them to the time he has had them and eliminate the interest but the barron county district attorney doesn't agree. They will let my wife out and drop the charges to misd. For a payment of $25,000.00. I have no disputes that a non custodial parent should be paying child support, over the last week of talking to my wife we have decided the best thing is to get her out make current payment and work on paying the back abount owed, but for that Mr. Jamie Dahlberg would need to drop the charges so she can come home go back to work to make any payments. She has ended up with a real winner of a defense attorney to Carol Conklin from Ladysmith Wisconsin.

All I have seen she's good with at this point is lying to my wife skirting around answering any questions for my wife and killing time. She doesn't talk to my wife except for on Monday each week.

The hardest issue with this is trying to explain to our 3 year old daughter and 4 year old son why mom isn't home with them. Thank you all for listening to me vent were as I don't see were as anything is going to help with this issue.
