Ripoff fraudulent sales

I was a victim of the sales tactics of Kirby of South Jacksonville. If you read the other reports of the salemen who have worked for this company on this site, I fell for those lines, hook, line, and sinker.

They said they were opening a new store by Wal-mart and they handed me a 2 liter pepsi and told me to put my checkbook away. They just wanted to show me some of the items for my home and yard so I could tell my friends. It would only take a minute.

They were working on a scholarship program and "today is the last day of the contest", blah blah. Come to find out from the previous entries of this site, this is a sales tactic and a blatent lie.

So, I said sure. No money, just look at some stuff, I can do that.

They then come back to my door with a couple big boxes, and ask to come in from the heat. It's 95 degrees and the dude is dressed in a suit. So, again, I go against my better judgement and let them in.

Come to find out, its a Kirby vaccuum. Which I already know is a great product, but I don't have the funds to pay - even close - to what their asking. They take over an hour to do their demo. Not the few minutes they promised at the door. Their is also no new store that I see by my Walmart.

They then start lowering the price, lowering the price, throwing in this and that attachment for free. They get to 1,00 bucks which is half of what they were asking, no money down, blah, blah. Then they call the boss man on the phone and tell him sweet lil' ol' me can't afford this product and I really need it and then Mr. Generous bossman lowers the price again. I keep hearing, "this is the last day of the scholarship contest, and I only need one more to win! Boo hoo!"

So I finally relent. I sign my name and buy the machine. But, I know I haven't made the right decision and can't afford this, not to mention the interest rate in 20% or more! So I have my 3 days to give notice to cancel, which I am going to do today.

I get on the internet and do a search for this company so I can get directions or a phone number, and come across this site and read the entries from previous employees and see they use these same lame lines to sucker their prospective buyers.

I will update on what happens when I get back. At least I haven't given them any money and I have their vaccuum in my possession in case they decide to give me the run around. Hopefully, I can just walk away. Otherwise, I will be getting legal council.
