Jessi malone ripoff scam help my soccer team buy some books magazines

Miscellaneous

On the morning of July 27, two young (18-21) individuals, one male and one female, approached my door in a rural area. The girl introduced herself as JESSI MALONE and showed me some stupid I.D. Card, which I did look at, but what does that prove?

She told me a story about how she plays soccer and she just lives down the street, she's the oldest of five kids, all home schooled, suprised I didn't know her mom. She loves to babysit. This guy with her is kind of her "bodyguard" because she feels "funny" doing this. Like, I'm the one that's going to hurt her or rip her off?! She finished her graduation requirements (attending ASU in the fall) and her soccer team is trying to earn a trip to London.

Could I help? She has kids books. I have kids, standing there watching this whole thing go down. I relate how my niece plays select softball and travels all over the country and is always doing fundraisers, so I get sucked in to the scam.

I write her a check for way more than I would ever pay for the same stupid books off Amazon. She disappears. I call the phone number I asked her to give to me, and you guessed it, out of service.

I immediately go to RIPOFF and find other stories in my area. Place a stop payment on the check. Already filed with the BBB of Arizona and contacted the A.G. Filed a police report and gave a description of the car.
Hoping I run into them walking door to door again in my neighborhood. And, yes, I mean that literally, run into them, with my car.

MY NEW POLICY IS TO NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ANY KIDS/people GOING DOOR TO DOOR. Sadly that means that all the good kids that I know in my neighborhood will miss out.
