Ripoff Deadbeat Dad ignores needs of his 2 children

Shelby R. Wilson is the epitomy of a deadbeat dad. He and I had a daughter together, who was 20 months old when I left him. Three weeks later, I found out I was pregnant with our son. I left him after 4 years of physical and emotional abuse... Having pressed charges against him once. Yes, my decision to have children with him wasn't a good one, but it happened.

I had to move to North Carolina (to live with my Mom) several months after I left him because I couldn't afford a car note, food, rent and daycare on the $10.50/hour that I was making. My daughter and I even spent 3 months living in a homeless shelter because he refused to help me. So he now says that he doesn't help me because I moved 1300 milse away and he doesn't have a relationship with his children. He called our daughter twice after we moved here and hasn't made any contact with either of them since. That was in 2004 that he last contacted me or our daughter.in Septermber I asked for $25 to buy our son bottles. I didn't get the money until the day before Thanksgiving... 2 months later! At which time, he sent $50, instead of the $25 I asked for, I guess thinking that the extra money would make up for the late arrival of the help I needed.

I have filed for child support 6 times since I left him, only to have my case closed because he wouldn't answer the door to the Constable serving him with court papers... That is until this past court date on June 28. He didn't show up to that one either, but the judge saw how things ahve gone and ended up entering a default judgement against him. Of course, I still don't have that money in my hand yet but just having the judgement is all I need at this point. When he's $5,000 in back child support, I will have him put on the child support evaders list!

To all you Moms and Dads out there that are battling a non-custodial deadbeat parent for child support, don't lose faith! It will eventually work out. Your hard work, time and patience will be noticed. If not noticed by the state, your children will know it one day. They will be the ones that will know the sacrifice you have made to get them what they deserve to have. To me, that is all that matters. The NCP's true colors will show and your children will know what the absent parent is all about. They're smarter than you think! Good luck!!
