Dennis Fink - ripoff

I had rented a house from Dennis Fink, Jr for about 2 yrs. I moved in around Oct '03 and moved out in Oct '05. This man is one of the biggest slum lords, and drug dealers around! When I first got the place there were things wrong with it. Ie leaking roof, rotten window sills, broken fence, hole in cellar hallway, etc. He swore up and down that he was going to fix everything.

Months went by and he did no such thing. Stuff started to get worse in the house. I tried to fix up all that I could, and would deduct it from the rent, and included the reciepts with rent payments. After about a year, I found out that not only was I paying the utilities at my house, but also for the apartment that was attached to it! I told Dennis about it, in writing, but he never did anything to fix it. I then started to look for another place to live for me and my 2 children and our pets. Which is very hard to do now adays.

By the time Sept.'05 came around, I was in the process of buying a house, and was packing up to move. The house was in horrible shape. My bedroom ceiliing had collapsed under the weight of the water from the leaking roof, windows were breaking from all the rotted wood, and very old glass, porch was falling apart, gas furnace was red-tagged due to gas leak, water stains all over first flr ceiling from leaking roof, and leaking sink, pipes to sink in kitchen blew apart, all stuff from when I first moved in were still there, fence-sections were collaping, water main lines were blowing apart, etc. On Sept 30th, Dennis actually came in and CUT my water lines so I had no running water! I had to move my kids in with my parents and had to lug jugs and buckets of water into the house to take care of my animals until the loan for my other house was finalized. I called both the water com and the code officer about this situation to get it resolved. Neither did anything! They said it was between me and the landlord!

Come Oct 19th, I had got a call that the code officer was at my house on a complaint of no elec and no water. I went and met him, and reminded him that he had known about the water, and I had no porb showing him the elec was on. Needless to say, Dennis has connections with his drug dealing. Before I knew it, al kinds of officals were swarming in my house, throwing accusations at me! Due to all of this, the house became red-tagged and I was rendered homeless.

The following weekend I went to get my animals out and while I was there, the neighbor cam busting into the house, broke the front door, and came upstairs screaming, "wheres the fire?" I looked at him like he was crazy. There was no smoke, or smell of fire. He then went upstairs and all this smoke came down the stairs. Someone had set a mattress ontop of the old exhaust fan and it caight fire! They then tried to accuse me of setting it! IT eventually was passed of as an elec. Fire, and Dennis got the insurance money.

When I went back the following weekend, I found that Dennis had put a dumpster in front of the house, pad locked the house so I could not get in, and started to destroy everything I owned! I mean litterally DESTROYED! Took a hammer, smashed all mirrors and glass, busted apart all dressers, dumped paint and cat litter over all clothes, electronics, and toys, busted apart litter boxs, cages, EVERYTHING! Most of the stuff I owned was passed down from family members. Things saved up from when I was a baby, and things given to me when my Gram passed away, that she had got from her mom and Gram! Things that cannot be replaced!

He also is known to rip-off people with his construction business. He is in the middle of 4 different lawsuits for it! And it doesnt matter how old the person is!
If you ever want to rent, or have remodeling done, STAY AWAY FROM DENNIS FINK!
