Predatory employment practices — lies to employees and customers

If I had known then what I know now... I cannot believe I allowed myself to be suckered into this pyramid scheme. The whole company is a scam. Everything is a lie, from the job listings on Monster.com and Hot Jobs and CareerBuilder — to the "business trips".

First, be aware, when you answer the ads online looking that tell you to ask for anyone whose initials match the website name— that's just their way of knowing who's calling, so they know to put on the "business tone". (IE— ask for "Mary" if you found the ad on Monster.com; ask for "Heather Jacobs" if you found it on Hot Jobs, etc.) The person you are asking for is never available to talk to you about the job because they don't exist. The people who answer the phone are there to sucker you in.

I worked for Candace - , the MASTER ILLUSIONIST for long enough to realize what she was. If you're desperate enough to stay with the company long enough to be "promoted" (about 1 week), you will start to learn all the crap they want you to promote to new employees and "job" candidates. I got to the point where I would underperform ON PURPOSE, just to avoid having to take someone on an interview. I couldn't live with the guilt of trying to seduce hard-working people into her b.S.

If you are promoted, you will spend at least 12 hours a day working to make Candace money. She will do whatever she has to do to keep you working, including making you work when you're sick, when your car is broken, when you have a family emergency, or anything else. Her tactics include "advancing" you paychecks (to cover all the times you WON'T be making money), lending you her car, "re-training" you, etc. It's all a crock.

What kind of CEO wears the same suit 4 days a week and lives in an apartment with her boyfriend and three of her employees?

SMA International is the same crock, running out of Candace's office. Beware. Get out. RUN!
