Lying, Unfair Charges, charge one $225.00 and two $311.00, ripoff!

I am a handicapped male and I purchased with the help of Blue Cross my medical provider an Amigo Fiesta IV-12 medical scooter so I could have some mobility freedom from Allegro Medical a web based company. When I took delivery I had to drive to Syracuse, NY to pick it up for some reason that escapes me.

From day one of possession of this unit about 10 mos. Ago I have had problems with the charging system. I have had numerous contacts with Amigo International so they knew I was having problems.

In the first 3 mos. The batteries went dead and could no longer be charaged. Amigo sent me a new set and that set was going fast and one day two months ago in December the scooter went dead and would no longer move!

I contacted Amigo International again and they said to bring it to a registered Amigo repair outlet and I did, I took it to Penn York Medical Supplies in Binghamton, NY phone number 607-773-3622 and they had it for two months and could not fix it. The problem was related to the brake mechanism causing a drag on the drive train and it just burned up the batteries and finally would not go at all.

They replaced the brake mechinism twice and they charged me for the labor! $175.00 and said it was nothing but a piece of "junk". Amigo said they would take it back and issue me a "comparable" replacement so Penn York charged me another $50.00 to pack it up for shipping. Amigo International I guess paid the shipping on that first scooter. So I had to pay $225.00 to Penn York Medical Supplies when the replacement scooter came in.

Now, I spent a considerable amount of time with Ms. Shirley Beebe of Amigo International explaining my needs; big man, use for in town etcetara. When I went to pick up my new scooter I doubted very much this was a "comparable scooter", my original had four aggressive wheels and tires that could climb inclines and go in sand when we went to the beach!

This wimp of a scooter they sent had only three wheels and they were smooth. It would not move on a snow covered side walk in front of my house! I had to push it up the ramp I had made for my other scooter so this was clearly not a "comparable" scooter!

Well, at this point I was besides myself and upset and out of desperation I called Blue Cross of Michigan my medical provider and a woman named "Debbie" phone number (deleted - see below) and she called both parties Amigo International Shirley Beebe and Stephanie Julian from AllegroMedical.com where I bought it phone number 1-800-861-3211 extenstion 109 and an aggreement was reached whereby I would return the replacement scooter and Amigo would sent the packing material because the replacement scooter box that went to Penn York was for the return of my first Amigo scooter the Fiesta IV-12.

Well, now I am at a roadblock and unable to secure what I have so far paid for with the help of Blue Cross and that is a "comparable" scooter which is waiting for me at AllegroMedical.com but I have to pay again! This time I must pay the shipping to return the scooter that was not "comparable"!

I have only one shipper in my remote area of the state of New York and that is DHL and thier quote on a large package like this is $311.00 estimate. Amigo International refuses to pay and again I am being ripped off!

Now I cannot get my scooter without arranging for some kind of financing! I already had to get a loan for the dead scooter they could not fix! So in closing I think you can see clearly that I am continuing to be ripped off by Amigo International in Bridgeport, Michigan!
