This is the text of a letter that will be sent in the morning:

I am going to be blunt. Cease and desist. The magazine order that you are attempting to collect for was not placed with your company, and was properly cancelled within 2 days of it origination.

My wife and I have both tried to get you to understand that you will not collect anything from us. The magazines are arriving as unsolicited merchandise, and are being immediately relegated to the trashcan (with the sole exception of the one to which we already subscribed). We are calling each of the magazines and canceling individually, and assuring them that you are attempting to rip us off.

The bill is being returned to you unpaid, and it will forever remain so. I have consulted with a local attorney, and he assures me that you are in violation of several Oklahoma laws, and that if this letter will not resolve the issue, he will be happy to take on the case and pursue any and all remedies available.

The sequence started in December with a telemarketer (not identified as being with CMS) calling my wife. She ordered ONE magazine. Within 48 hours, she called back and cancelled the order and was assured "everything will be taken care of."

In late February, the first of several "strange" magazines started arriving. They were strange in the sense that they were of little to no interest to us, and they were not anything that we had ordered.in our Feburary credit card bill was a charge from CMS. Not recoginzing the company as one we had done business with, I called the 800 number on my bill. I was informed that since my wife made the order, that I could not modify the account. My wife called about ten minutes later, and met with no success in cancelling the account.

We called our credit card company to dispute the charge, received some paperwork from them to fill out to get our money back, and prevent any further charges. The letter above is in response to the bill received today. These folks think I am going to pay them almost $600 for magazines that we did not order.
