Employment discrimination

I was employed as a warehouseman for All Power in Granby, MA. I have held similar jobs for over a decade, and still do so today.
I have a foot disability that extended hours can occasionally cause difficulty in walking. On rare occasions I cannot walk at all. After missing a day of work due to this problem, I was fired by the service manager "because the foot problem is not working out." This was also, coincidentally, only a few days before my benefits were to kick in.
While my feet did cause me to not be able to always work at full speed, I was at all times still able to perform the basic job duties. All Power's ownership should be ashamed for discriminating against the disabled.
A short list of the job duties I performed, and performed with no problems whatsoever:
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Landscaping
- Operating forklift and skidsteer
- Loading and unloading customer vehicles.
- Loading, unloading and operating company vehicles.
- Climbing into trailers and moving heavy (70-130lb) boxes around in tight spaces.
- Cleaning of multiple areas of dealership.
- Light equipment (HVAC, forklift) maintenance.
Despite this, the ownership decided they couldn't have an employee limping around and made the decision to let me go over my feet.
I urge any and all customers to avoid this dealership due to their above-listed employment practice.
