Toll Brothers Dulles Green Apartments
Doesn't live up to it's written description of what you really get and is overpriced due to this written lie Ripoff

Miscellaneous

What does this complex give you for your money? A place to park your car? NO, especially if you drive a company vehicle. If that's you, you must park on the street and walk 3/4 of a mile to get home in the rain, snow, etc. A gated community? NO, the gate is usually broken so it's left open 95% of the time and when it is closed, most people don't have access so they sit and wait for a car with access for whatever reason to come up and open the gate and follow you in or wait until you get tired and just open the darn thing because they refuse to move until you open it. A gym so you don't have to travel or pay extra to work out? Yes, but with broken equipment and not enough for all of the residents that live in the community. It's a good thing my apartment had been taken care of by the people that lived in it including myself because it's supposed to have the carpet cleaned and the walls painted each time the lease is signed and this had never been done in six years even though a lease was signed each year! We had our car towed at least 5 times (at $150 each time) and visiting friends towed 3 times 2 times from a visitor spot because he drove a company vehicle and was not allowed to park in the complex and we never received any notification of this "new" policy. My car was towed 2 times because I forgot to put my handicapped sticker on the rearview mirror after being parked in the same spot for a year due to back surgery. I guess the tow truck didn't recognize my car and the complex of course never returned any of my 20 calls for help on this. I was so angry that the complex hired someone to tow my legitimate car yet when I told one of the grounds crew that I could not use the handicapped space because someone was parked there illegally, they told me to call the number on the sign and make a complaint! These people are in it for the money and the money only. I had to make a trip out of state for a funeral and had my rent in an envelope to drop off on the way out, but... I forgot. Monday was a holiday as well. Me, thinking I was being responsible called the rental office and explained the situation. I was told regardless of my circumstances that if my check was not turned in on Monday (the holiday) I would be charged a late fee. No one delivers on a holiday anyway but I wasted the extra $15 to get the thing overnighted for Tuesday to show that I at least made the attempt just so I could save $100 on a late fee! I've never paid late before but there are never any excuses or exceptions made for any reason. I took care of my appliances and was very lucky that I didn't have many problems. My smoke detector went off every time I used the oven, my door alarm would go off twice a month and beep constantly and the office doesn't know how to shut it off when you call them. You have to play with it and suffer through the loud shrieking alarm until you want to rip it off the wall! I've also had people in my apartment while I had been out. Someone would watch movies on my TV that I nor my roommate had watched in over a year and we walked in our apartment and found the movie jacket laying at the top of the stairs. There are even some I cannot find anymore that have been taken by someone because I don't lend them out to anyone. Dulles Green is very overpriced in my opinion because the things I've mentioned are some of the most important things you look for, parking, access, maintenance, staff helpfulness or availability. They advertise gated, friendly, fresh, parking, gym equipment, routine maintenance. Once you give them your deposit and first months rent... Forget about it. You are on your own. Did I forget to mention that the manager at this particular location has a disposition of a cat?"A" has no respect for anyone. She's friendly and talks to who she knows and wants to which is usually one of her family members she invites to any "community gathering" or the staff, never will she smile or acknowledge someone standing there in the lobby or offices. I've said hello and been totally ignored by her and even some of the other office workers. I don't understand why apartment complexes aren't forced to deduct rent charges when their gates are broken, etc because I thought that was why I was paying higher rent???!!! Why wouldn't part of the rent money go for fixing the damn thing once and for all, God knows you get enough with all of the people you have crammed into the place. Earn your raises by doing what you are supposed to do. You should be held accountable to honor what you promise in writing. STOP YOUR FALSE ADVERTISEMENT SO PEOPLE WON'T BE SO DISSAPPOINTED IN WHAT THEY ARE GETTING and be locked in for a year paying for things that you all don't give or have!
