Phone scam: report complete ripoff! Nationwide

I am here to add another complaint about the company that calls themselves NGS or National Grant Services. I thought that it might be a scam after I picked up the phone and was told that I qualified for a $25,000 grant just for being a good U. S citizen and paying my taxes on time.

First I have never had to pay taxes before, i am only 21 years old and definately havn't made enough money yet for that. But in any case i was DUMB and kept listening to this guy who couldn't speak english well at ALL.

He told me his name was James Crner (I even had him spell it just in case) and he represented NGS and informed me that i qualified for this a grant for no less than 8,000 and no more than 25,000.

In the brackground there was alot of noise. He told me that all he needed from me was my bank name, routing # (whatever that is), and my account #.

Then he told me that after $299.95 was drafted out of my account for a membership/application fee that i would then recieve a check in the mail or an amount no less than ("not a penny less" exact words) 8,000 deposited into my account within 30-35 buisness days.

If i had not recieved this money in the time alotted then my 299.95 will be refunded back to me. This happened today November 19. When i was talking to James i asked him if i could have time to check in to his "company" before having any money drafted out of my account.

On November 22 is when he said the amount would be drafted and that if I was not satisfied with the information i had found while researching that i could call the 1-866-634-5648 customer service # and CANCEL the ENTIRE thing.

After reading the other reports i am pretty sure that this customer service # will not work. Now of course i am REALLY PISSED OFF about this entire thing and hope that who ever these people are get everything that they deserve and more.

Tommorow i plan on going to my bank and closing down my account if they have not already taken out any or all of my small savings. I would recomend that if you have had the same expirience for you to try and do the same.

The worst thing is all i wanted was a new car. Good Luck to anyone who was scammed by this company and if i get a hold of anyone i hope to get more info about who they are.
