I lived at Woodmere Creek Apartments for 4 years. When we moved in the carpet was dirty and the carpet cleaning company left the carpet soaking wet so when it dried it looked even more dirty. Over the course of 4 years we got a cat, our cat had urinary tract problems and urinated in one spot in the 8 foot dining room. If you could call it a dining room. And in 1 spot in the master bedroom by the wall.

We also placed a new vinyl floor over the nasty vinyl floor. Please note that we did not glue or tac or permanently attach the new floor to the old floor, we simply laid it on top of the already nasty floor...

We painted two rooms over the course of 4 years, the dining room and the living room, I admit we ran out of time to repaint the living room since we had to move to a new location prior to the end of our lease, but we primed (with white primer) the dining room...

When we moved out, we were charged over $2000 dollars for carpet and paint. They said it cost them $400 to paint ONE room. They stated that there was damage. There was no damage, every wall was intact every hole that was made to hang a picture WE filled with plaster/putty to make the walls smooth again.

Then we noticed almost $1500 for carpet replacement. The apartment we were living in was 897 square feet. How in the world could an apartment complex pay $1500 to replace carpet on EACH apartment when it is re-carpeted??? I called a local carpet replacement place and got a quote for an 1100 square foot apartment, they guestemated if some subflooring had to be replaced, new tacs, new padding they quoted $800... Our apartment was 897 square feet, with NO subfloor damage. So they said it cost almost $1500 to replace carpet, padding, and tacs for 897 square feet... For an apartment complex in which you know gets wholesale prices and uses the cheapest carpet ever made. Something doesn't sound right..!!! What other choice do we have but to pay it so our credit won't get ruined? NONE! They sent us a bill October 13th, we received it October 15th and the due date was October 31st!!! When I had spoken to the apartment manager prior to receiving a bill to try to work a settlement out she said we could set up payment arrangements etc... When i received the bill and called her, her story had changed (surprise surprise) and she said she was only required by state law to give 15 days notice, when our lease was up August 31st and her claim had to be in corporate headquarters by 10 days after the lease was up. So she sat on the bill for over a month.
