Fraudulent Activity on Bank Account

I was naive in giving Advantage America my account information in thinking I was getting &12,500.00 of government grant money. Shortly after I did that, I looked up the company information online and saw this website. I immediately called the 'agency' back to advise them of my cancellation of the transaction due to business complaints. The male who answered the phone (after a billion rings, I might add) was very rude and asked me why I did not want the 'free money'. I once again advised him that there had been complaints about 'Advantage America', and he basically told me there was nothing he could do for 48 hours, and hung up on me. I disregarded this thinking it would be cancelled in 48 hours. Big mistake. My checking account was debited for $49.95 about 5 days later. I was irate, but decided to accept the loss because I was naive enough to give them my account information. I proceeded on with my life until the day of 10/20/05.

I accessed my online banking and realized $299.95 had been debited and the draft was coming back to Advantage America. I DID NOT give them the authorization to debit this amount from my bank account. I recall them mentioning if I wanted to enroll in the 'benefits' for $299.95 a year on a recorded line. The person speaking is supposed to say a simple 'yes' or 'no' if they agreed and understood. I said NO because I did NOT want the $299.95 debited. They went ahead and debited this amount from my account without authorization and will probably continue doing this until someone stops them.

Today I have reported this so called 'government' agency to my local police department (which I happen to work for so I know how it goes, little or nothing will be done about this locally) and I also reported it to the IFCC/FBI.

I highly recommend, not only to report this to your local police agency, but also the IFCC. We HAVE to stop these people, they have been getting away with ripping off naive citizens for over 2 years now. PLEASE if you are a victim of this fraudulent activity, keep all records and report this to the IFCC/FBI. You can file a report/claim online and also look towards getting restitution for the damages.
