Last november I got a call from this magazine company to answer a survey and then I would receive five magazines of my choose for a year and two of my friends could also receive two for a year as well for free.
My magaizine order is never right and they call me all the time to harasse me for their payment after I have already paid them or they are always double charging me.
I never get a name from who calls me and I told them that I was not happy with their service and that I wanted to canceal. I was told that I could not do that because I have done a contract with them.
I did everything over the phone and at the get go I asked if I could canceal if not satisfied and was told that I could. The charge me $15.95 a month for like the first year or two and then after that the next year or two is free.
In the pamplet let it says try to uphold agreement but it does not state anywhere that it is a binding contract. Now my bestfriend that is receiving free magazines keeps getting bugged by the company to pay a renew fee which at the beginning I was told that they would not even be bothered by the company what so ever.
What do I do. I don't want the magazines anymore due to poor business and being bugged all the time by them. I told them that I would just stop paying but they keep sending higher bills with late charges and they said that they would send me to colletion. They even threatend me that they would even seek court action if I did not pay them.
At one point I got upset with them and told them that I should be able to stop the magazines and they got real nasty and hung up. I call back and some lady told me that I had a real nasty mouth and that I better continue with their service.
I need help please because this place is stealing people's lifes and god knows what else. I have see others out there just like me and I was wandering is there a lawyer taking up a case?
