Being a skeptic pays off! Fraud lies dishonest telemarketers

Miscellaneous

For about two weeks I would receive a call from an "unknown caller." Most of the time there was no voice on the other end, all the other times after speaking to someone the phone disconnected.
One morning I was home from school and the phone rings. There's that "unknown caller" again. "Hi can I speak to Andrea please, " says a middle-aged woman with a middle eastern accent. "This is she."

She goes into the whole spill of how 20 U.S. Citizens have been selected to receive grants.in my mind I'm saying, "this sh*t has got to be a scam. Nothing's free." But at the same time I had recently done some grant searches, so I was curious.

I have a background in sales so when she starts asking for my account number before she gives me all the perks and benefits of what she's offering me, I knew something was up.

With doubt grabbing at my collar, I begin to ask her some questions instead. "So what's the name of your company again?"
"What is your name again?" "Where exactly are you located?"

The whole while I'm doing a search on the internet. I typed in Advantage America and that's how I got here. All I saw were words like "fraud", "lies", "dishonest telemarketers"

She askes me for my account number again and I tell her to hold on for a second. I read a little more and I had read enough.

I return to the phone and tell her that I did a search on her so-called company and it said that they were a scam company and a bunch of lies. Her only rebuttal was "That is not true." While waiting for her to come up with her next lie I say "If it is true I'm gonna have to miss out this time because I'm gonna pass on this one. Have a good day." and I hang up.

I knew being the world's biggest skeptic would pay off. DO YOUR RESEARCH before giving out your info people!!!

I hope my story can save some people from getting RIPPED-OFF by one of these grimy "companies"
