Advantage America, Winter Park, Florida ripoff, offering Government Grant money if you give bank account number

I was called today on my cellular, which is on the "Do Not Call" list and told that I would be receiving $13,000.00 in the form of a Government Grant for overpaid taxes. The number on my caller ID was 666-8006 which right there spooked me!

The gentleman's name was Joseph McKertish and his ID was 43601. He said if I gave him my bank account number, they would call to verify that I actually had an account. He claimed that I would be receiving a check for $500.00 tomorrow which I was supposed to deposit in my bank account and leave there. Then, they would be calling the bank to verify my account number so they could "Direct Deposit" the remaining $12,500.00 to my account, after $49.95 was deducted from the original $500.00 for Shipping and Handling fees.

I did not give him any further information. But asked several questions.

He very willingly supplied me with the address and phone number where I could call back to verify what he had told me.

I immediately contacted my bank and asked them to have their Fraud Department check this company out.

Too good to be true I am sure, but 13 Grand right now would be a nice little piece of "chump" change to have in my pocket.

Do not give in, I am pretty sure this IS a SCAM!

Tomorrow I call the Attorney General for the State of Nevada and give them the low down.

If for some reason I DO get the $13,000.00 I will be the first to let you know!
