Ripoff. Government grants you never have to pay back from lady with an incredible thick Indian Accent

At about 2:30 in the afternoon today i receieved a phone call from a lady with an incredible thick Indian Accent. I had my cell phone on speaker phone so that my bf and i could hear it better. Her accent was so thick that it was very hard to understand a thing she said. But from what i did hear, made me very angry and i will be taking action because of it.

The lady said that my family and I were eligble for a gov't grant that i would never ever have to pay back. I asked her how she got my number because i had not submitted or applied for a grant. Something about re searching numbers and if i was a US citizen and a tax payer i was elgible. Then she asked me if i had access to a computer, which didnt sit right with me. At this point, both my bf and i knew this had to be a scam. She continued with questions such as: What do you want the money for, what will you do with it, and how much do you want. I told her that i would probably use it for school, or to pay off bills. She said she could give me 5grand, then it jumped to 10, then 20, and even 40 thosand dollars.

I was pulling into my drive way when she asked me for my personal information. I said i didnt feel comfortable doing that over the phone and i wanted her information. She said her name was Sherly Jones and her employment # was 1807.. I then asked her for the number to the company just in case i needed to contact them. She danced around the question for awhile and after demanding i know it, she gave in. My bf then called me over to the lap top where he had googled the name; US Grant Interactive. This site came up. Still unsure if this was a scam i asked her for her address. The address she gave matched all of the addresses on this site.

I asked her if this was a scam and obviously she said no. I told her i was reporting the company to the FBI and the police and she said, " Go right ahead" we will call you in a few days to see if your still interested in the grant. I said im not and hung up on her. I do intend to do something about this. Never EVER give ur information out over the phone, cuz you may suffer severe consequences.
