Miscellaneous

July 7,05. Recieved a phone call from a Shane O'Conner. Very, very heavy eastern Indian accent. Lots of these 'phone people' have very Irish sounding names, The accent just doesn't match!

He told me I was chosen to recieve this free money from the government. I'd never have to pay it back.

He asked if I payed my taxes. Knowing not to answer 'Yes or No' I said "sure"."Well", he says, "that is what qualifies me for recieving this money." He just needed to verify I was the 'right person', by my bank accoount.
I immediately started asking him questions. Like what government department was giving away 'free money'. He said it was the FDA. So I asked what that stood for. Get this: Federal Domestic Agency!

With every question I asked, he assured me it was all legitimate. He even had the nerve to say to me: "Are you saying you don't want the FREE MONEY?"
I insisted on calling him back with the info he requested. He kept insisting on calling me back. I finally got a number from him. It took me to a "full voice mail" or something similar, of United Services of America.

He did give me a web site to check on and that is how I found this consumer complaints site!
I called our sheriff and they said to file a report with the atty general's office. This place seemed like it would get the word out better!

This Irish/Eastern Indian did call me back and still insited on needing my banking info. I told him the phone number he gave, took me to a "too full voice mail". I also told him I contacted law enforcement and attorney general and told him not to call me anymore. He still was trying to convince me of the legitimacy of this "free money" while I was telling him this. He obviously didn't understand what a sheriff was or even what the attorney general was. I finally had to hang up on him because he wouldn't stop trying to get my money.

Oh, and when I asked why he needed my banking info he told me that that was how they could be assured that I was the right person. When I asked, " What happens if I give you all this info and you find out I am the wrong person?" He said" Oh you are the right person, we just need to make sure." He didn't even realize what he was saying was in a circle!

He just wanted my backing info BAD! And from the very first, that was my clue this was a scam!
