Deceptive sales practices and empty promises, ripoff!

The sales person told me that he would sell me a brand NEW house and exclude the premium for a corner lot. Two days later, the contract was rejected by the owner of the company.in the mean time, my wife and I fell in love with the house, and agreed to pay the additional fee.

We were also told that if we used their finance company (The Continental Group) that I would get a $3,000.00 credit towards closing. At the time of closing, the $3,000.00 were never credited to me. The credit statement was not written on the initial contract; however, I have e-mails from the loan processor telling me not to worry about the $3k, that I was going to get them.

The closing was done on a Thursday afternoon, with The Greater Title Company, and they had all documents dated one day behind, due to an error caused by The Continental Group. Needless to mention I paid taxes, interest, principal, and insurance for that one day.

After closing, Shoma's customer service had scheduled the hot check and the appliances to be delivered the following week. I have 3 kids ranging in age from 6 months to 4 years old, and a wife. I needed to move out of my old house and into the new one during the weekend.

I did not have A/C, refrigerator, range, microwave, washer and drier. I asked the customer service people, why they sold a house that was not livable. Thet had no answer. I was able to convince the air conditioning and electrical company to solve this problem for me the following Friday. A task that seemed impossible for the people in customer service.

On top of the above-mentioned, I had the following problems with the house; air conditioner was not wired properly, missing door to the garage, un-even backyard, dead sod, debris in the front and backyard, no power in bathrooms, water intrusion in garage, side access door did not open, unfinished concrete surfaces in balcony, garage and terrace, missing compressor disconnect switches, scratched bath tubs, broken tiles, incomplete survey, and more.
