Ripoff

I had somewhat of a different situation. I was at Walmart getting into my car and some guy knocked on my window and scared me to death.
I rolled down my window just a crack and he said he came in peace. I was really leery the whole time. He was nice but I could tell he was phony. I almost felt threatened.

He gave me the same story as everyone else that he was trying to win a trip to Cancun by selling magazine subscriptions and he had to get a certain amount of points.

I told him that I really didn't have the money but if he had something for like $20 or less I would think about it. Well of course all the cheaper one-year magazine subscriptions were sold out. He said I had to buy a two or three year subscription.
So being very gullible and ignorant, I did. But I told him I only had twenty dollars cash. So he told me I could write a check, and I did.

The whole time I felt that something wasn't right and I think I should have went with that feeling. I am still not sure if I got ripped off yet. When I told my husband what had happened, he got mad at me and thought I had been ripped off and come to find out with a little Internet research, that all these people had too.
Like I said I am not sure if I have been ripped off yet.
I sent in my cancellation within the three days with signature confirmation so they can't say they didn't receive it. I also filed a police report. I will keep you updated if I do indeed get ripped off. And just some friendly advice, no matter what... Just to be safe, JUST SAY NO if you don't feel right about something or someone!
