Lease payments of $2200 paid on only $1400 of merchandise

I was told that after the first set of payments I would have paid most of the balance and would A) be able to pay a small remaining portion and be done or B) continue payments and pay off the remaining portion. At this time I have paid $2200 to them on a total of $1400 of merchandise, and every two weeks I am paying another $125, which pays a whopping $17.50 towards my pay-off. They have me scheduled for payments every other week through next October...
I am currently trying to terminate this so-called lease, even if it means losing what I have paid for. I do not know what to do...
