Shipping wrong item to customers as a ploy

I ordered a Keurig Vue V500 in the color Red through Groupon. When my packaged arrived it was black. I then called customer service and I was told they will be contacting the merchant and I should call back in three days. I called back on the third day and there was no information given to me. I then called again two business days later and spoke to a very pleasant lady (Christina) who tried her best to help. I called the next day to ask again what was the status of me receiving the proper color that I have ordered. I was then read an email that I was told was sent to me stating my item is no longer available and i could keep it or return it, by a representative (Heather) who was not trying at all to help in the matter but did make me aware that I was lied to in the beginning. That all merchandise are in their warehouse and not from the merchant. So my question is Why was I sent the wrong item and not informed of not having the item I ordered. I then asked to speak to a manager to resolve this matter. I was put on hold and she never returned for over an half hour I put the phone on speaker and no one returned.
