Employees are uninformed on gun purchase laws - Remington 870 youth shotgun

I went in to purchase a shotgun for my grandson. I filled out the forms and after waiting for 30 minutes the employee returned and said that it had to be submitted for further review. He said it could take 6 to 30 days until they got a response and insisted that was the law. I told him the law said "after 3 days if there is no negative response the gun can be sold". He told me that was incorrect. I ask if maybe it was a store policy and he said no it was the law. When I got home I looked it up to be sure I was correct. I was and called him to ask him to look up the law and he said that was not his responsibility and now his reasoning was it was store policy. You can bet I canceled the order and went else where and purchased the gun on the spot. Evidently they don't care about selling guns and just use the department to get you into the store.
