Dave Ellis Chrysle
Chrysler Manipulation

Miscellaneous

A few weeks ago I noticed a squeak in the steering column of my
2006 Chrysler 300. I am 75 years old and used to know something about cars. The squeak could only mean that I needed
a bit of grease (about 5 cents worth) in the tie rod bushings to
either the steering wheel or the wheel itself. I called David Ellis
Chrysler, in Canoga Park to make an appointment for an oil change and to find out what they would charge for eliminating the
squeak. I was advised that Chrysler had sealed the bushings in
manufacturing and to fix it I would have to replace the entire rack
and pinion steering system for a cost of $ 650.00. Is this fair?
Of course not. But is it legal? No one can fix this but Chrysler.
Please help.
