My niece Ashley Strom has a dental plan with Humana One #0000021112185 effective 1 Oct. 2012 and due for renewal 1 Oct. 2013 as stated by a letter from Humana dated 4 Aug.in the letter it stated that my account would be debited for $215.88 for the annual premium. I called Humana immediately once I received the letter from my niece and told Humana they were not authorized to take any money from my checking account and certain were not authorized to take a sum of $215.88 out on Sept 15 for a bill that was due 1 Oct. I set up thew plan for Ashley and I am paying for it with my checking account, but the personal told me I could not tell them to not take money from my account that Ms Storm had to do that. Ms storm was on the road touring with her band and I finally got a hold of her in mid Aug and she told them not to take any money from any account. Numerous telephone calls went back and forth between Humana, myself and Ms Storm and Humana was not listening to a word that was being said. On the first of Sept I told Ashley to cancel the policy. I followed up by telling them to cancel the policy. This was on 4 Sept. I kept looking for verification that the policy was cancelled. On Sept 18 I talked to Yolanda? At Humana and she told me that Humana had debited my account for $215.88 and the policy was paid until 1 Oct.
I told them the policy was cancelled and why did they debit my account and the person told me it takes 2 weeks to cancel an account. When I said it have been 2 weeks the person told me it took 15 business days.
I went to my bank and told them not to honor any check from Humana and there had been no debit on my account. Adam at Chase band told me after he had made some telephone calls that there was no check in the system from Humana written against my account. This morning I found a debit for $215.88 against my account and that amount was withdrawn from my account.
When I called Humana this morning I got the same song and dance from Humana and I cancelled my own account with Humana and asked that my credit card be credited for the pro-rata amount of the annual premium that was paid thru 1 May.
I think it is important Mr Mc Callister that you know that you are losing business and degrading the reputation of your company by having employees totally devoid of integrity. I am most embarrassed that you are an American Company. Truly I question my military career and the time I spent in Vietnam - No wait that is not right, I serviced because of our troops so that they would have the best medical care that they could have. I served and they had that care, to bad it is not being by members of your staff.
