Dear Sir’s,
Good day,
Received series of email from Island Offshore UK that i am a candidate for their Master or Chief officer position. Then they send me an “assessment form” I was to fill out and After filling out and returning the assessment, I received a confirmation email stating that I was accepted for the job, and stating that I was being offered a position as a Master on m/v Island Challenger. I was sent an employment contract to sign and return.

Job Details and Compensations.

Ensure conformance to local/international laws relating to the vessel’s operation, and strictly comply with current pollution regulation. Oversee the maintenance of deck equipment, firefighting and life-saving equipment, lifting equipment, and vessel’s exterior maintenance. Ensure materials and equipment loaded on board are safely stowed, secured and labeled according to Regulatory requirements. Ensure the vessel is seaworthy at all times and maintained/operated in accordance with guidelines in the Marine Operations Manual. Maintaining the watertight integrity of the vessel, loading and storage of consumables, securing of supply vessel etcetera. Ensure the vessel is maintained within normal safe limits of intact and damage stability, shear stress and bending moments. Assist the Master in ensuring the vessel’s navigational equipment is maintained, fully functional, and that testing and calibration is carried out in accordance with Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations. Assist the Master in maintaining the vessel’s logbook, maintenance reports and other vessel documents as directed. Understudy the Master and deputize when he/she is indisposed. Supervise the 2nd Officer’s activities and perform the duties of a DPO when required.

Job will last for 24 months with 12 months renewable option.

Salary range will be between £7,700 to £9,700 per month other allowances.

Job location is in the United Kingdom.

Attention Mohammad,
For your work permit application, I have attached the UK Home Office Work Permit application forms. Details of your academic qualifications and employment history should be provided in the form. All sections in the form should be filled except for Section 7, which should be left blank. I will provide the information needed in this section.
Filled forms should be provided with the following:
1, Copy of Signed Contract Agreement with UK Employer
2, Academic and Professional certificates
3, International Travelers Insurance Policy
You should take one year coverage International Travel Insurance Policy, this a mandatory requirement by the British Home Office (UK Government agency responsible for the issuance and approval of work permit), this is because the policy proves you are medically fit to travel and work in the UK and also a per-requisite to renew your resident/worker's permit every year.
Based on the new Home Office guideline, the accredited insurance company is NORWICH ASSURANCE UK website iswww.norwichassurance.com in the United Kingdom.

You are to apply for the following polices
A, Repatriation or Emergency Medical Evacuation
B, Medical Treatment.
C, Death or Permanent Disability

You will be issued a certificate after you have gotten their policy.
These documents are to be sent to enable me get your work permit before your date of resumption.
It takes between 1 to 2 weeks for work permit application to granted.
Once work permit is issued, the UK embassy in your location will invite you and you will be required to come with your international passport.
Other logistics issues relating to traveling and accommodation in UK will be handled by UK Employer upon confirmation of your work permit.
