Please avoid AVIS car rental at any cost, especially if you're a foreigner.
I had a very bad experience with AVIS in Padova & was forced to approach local Police to sue them to get my money refunded. They can even go to the extent of producing fake documents in order to charge you undue extras, so BEWARE!!!
